after Merlin disappears from Deerington, there is a brief inventory of items left behind for others. perhaps he had a sense of the end coming; a vision of Camelot, or a blond-haired man smiling at him, or a woman's hand beckoning him back home. regardless of how he knew, these are left with notes dictating what is intended for who...

Ren will find a carved wooden dragon statuette. It's from Merlin's father, gifted to Merlin shortly before his father was killed.

Ben Dearborn will find a grimoire, or a book of sorcery. It's certainly an authentic antique...even from its native time of the early Middle Ages.

for quentin coldwater.

Quentin Coldwater will find a book on herbs. It's technically new...as of the late 400s AD. The inlaid gold on the cover might feel reminiscent of a certain book of Quentin's that he let Merlin look at.

for the oa.

The OA will find a photo, taken on his Fluid and printed out at the pharmacy/drugstore in town. It's of the changing autumn leaves; clearly from late in September, not October when everything turned black.

Eliot Waugh will find one old-fashioned coin, technically ancient even though it was minted recently by Merlin's time's standards. Along with it is a note with surprisingly-neat handwriting that says 'don't know if it's enough for a cider in this time period, but worth a shot, right?'

Newt Scamanader will find a bag filled with loose-leaf tea - scent ought to be familiar from their first meeting - and a hand-written note that says, in painstakingly neat handwriting, 'thanks for explaining the weird magic stuff'. What a wordsmith.

Shinichi will find a tiny little...is that a stress ball?? It seems to have been bought at the pharmacy in-town, since the materials are new. Along with it is a note in neat handwriting. 'Heard these are useful for when things are bad, and things are bad here a lot. Please be careful, yeah?'

Rose Tyler will find a little leather pouch of four ancient coins — well, ancient to Deerington's here and now, which is a pretty flexible time as it turns out, isn't it? They're contemporary to Merlin, but he realizes the worth of comparing different times and places to each other. There's a note in neat handwriting tucked inside as well. 'Thanks for teaching me about the stars.'
